The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (Sea Cadets) is the Navy's youth development program. Sea Cadets are young men and women ages 10-18, who choose adventure, seek challenges, and are willing to step outside of their comfort zones. There are two programs within Sea Cadets. The Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) is for middle school students ages 10 to 13. The Navel Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) is for ages 13 through the end of high school.
We give young Americans skills, knowledge, and confidence through an amazaing variety of training opporunities. Sea Cadets wear uniforms work as teams in a disiplined enviroment, and adhere to our core values of honor, respect, commitment and service.
Polar Star Battalion meets twice a month -one Sat and one Sunday. Cadets learn various skills during these weekend trainings. The also participate in community service and participate in flag ceremonies and parades.
During the summer or winter break Sea Cadets at first typically attend an orientation training (bootcamp). That is a few days training focused on basic military instruction and team building. Once orientation training is completed the cadets are encourged to attend advanced training camps that are of interest to them, such as:
